"i can buy a car"
"i can afford a car"

what's the difference between these two sentence? (not necessery car, it can be anything you put in)

well, you can buy a car if you have that extra cash from an unexpected windfall. so you buy a car, but once you've used up the cash for downpayment and stuffs, you had a hard time trying to pay for it's monthly maintenance, gasoline etc...

what abt "i can afford a car"? you have the cash for all the nessecery stuffs and you need not work extra hard just to earn that extra money to pay for the car.
that's because you can AFFORD to have a car not BUY.

was working at M1 paragaon the other day when i had a chat with this PART-TIME M1 promoter. he's roughly about my age, slightly younger. what happen to be a normal chat turns out to be a boasting session. i'm seriously pissed with his talks of how rich his fren is, owning a car, living in a bungolow, having 2 computers in one room, and many many more, i mean MANY... i know i could have just stood aside but doing so would seems very rude of me. i had no choice but to pretend to be interested in his topic.

at one point, he was talking abt how his LV wallet is different from the one that his friend has. took out the wallet and show me. then talk of wanting to buy this fred perry shirt and other branded stuffs. that's really enough.

here comes the question, can he really afford those branded goods? if he can, i doubt he'll possibly need to work PART-TIME at M1. low pay and lotsa stuffs to do. so why did he want to buy those branded stuffs? i seriously can imagine him working so so so hard to earn those few hundred bucks just for that purpose.

so why buy branded when you cant afford it? dun compare yourselve with RICH MAN's SON. their daddy has lots of $ but your daddy is just an average working adult. so save up your money and get something practical. and i despise ppl who brag. unless you bought a bmw or mini cooper with your own hard earned money and not money from your rich parents, i RESPECT you.

this world is really strange, riches stay humble.
poor fags act as if they are very rich.

wait till you've graduated and get into the workforce, it's still not to late to get those stuffs with your huge paycheck. so study hard now, the cert is really important.
